How to Share a Claude Artifact Without a Claude Account

Artifacts shared through Claude's newer Share dialog normally require every viewer to sign in to Claude, even with 'Anyone with the link'. The exception is a legacy chat artifact published with 'Publish' on Free, Pro or Max plans, which visitors can open without an account. If you need an independent web page anyone can open in a browser, build a standalone version and publish it through Sentway: visitors need no Claude account, but you, the creator, need a free Sentway account.

Which kind of Claude artifact do you have?

Open the artifact and look at the button. Newer artifacts show 'Share', which opens a dialog with access options such as 'Only you', 'Anyone with the link' or email invitations. Anthropic's help states that people without a Claude account cannot open a shared artifact, even with the link. A visitor who is not signed in is asked to sign in or create an account first.

Legacy artifacts made in a chat show 'Publish' on Free, Pro and Max plans, or 'Share & copy link' on Team and Enterprise plans. A published legacy artifact is the documented exception: visitors with its public link can view it without a Claude account.

Details vary. Team and Enterprise owners can restrict sharing outside the organisation, artifacts that use Claude or connect to your apps cannot use 'Anyone with the link', older Cowork live artifacts follow their own rules, and changes roll out in phases. Treat the current sharing panel and Anthropic's help page as authoritative: https://support.claude.com/en/articles/9547008-share-artifacts

Option 1: use legacy Publish if you have it

If your artifact shows 'Publish' and the basic published version does what you need, use it. It is free, quick and requires no Sentway account. Open the link in a private browser window to confirm what a signed-out visitor sees.

Option 2: native sharing for Claude users

If your recipients already have Claude accounts, or the artifact depends on Claude-powered features such as asking Claude, connected apps or artifact storage, native sharing keeps those features where they work. Asking someone to create a Claude account is a reasonable trade-off for colleagues, less so for a public audience.

Option 3: a standalone page hosted on Sentway

When a plain browser link with no Claude login is essential, ask Claude to produce a standalone version of the content in a supported format such as HTML or JSX and publish it through the Sentway connector. The result lives at a new Sentway URL. It is a separate copy you control, not the original claude.ai artifact embedded or mirrored.

Sentway hosts and publishes. It does not generate your code or design; Claude does the building. You can later add a form for responses or change access settings without changing what Claude built.

Portability: what moves and what does not

There is no one-click export and no guarantee of an exact clone. The page, its layout and its code may need rewriting so they run on their own in an ordinary browser.

Features that depend on Claude will not automatically work on Sentway: built-in AI or model calls, connected apps, shared or personal artifact storage, external secrets or sign-in, Claude platform APIs and any server-side behaviour. Claude may be able to replace some of these, for example swapping saved storage for a Sentway form, and others must be removed.

Self-contained experiences port best. A simple interactive calculator, static dashboard, quiz, checklist or form usually adapts well, because all of its logic can run in the visitor's browser. Ask Claude to tell you plainly which functions it preserved and which it changed.

Step by step: publish without visitor sign-in

1. Create a free Sentway account.

2. Add Sentway from the Claude Connector Directory and approve the connection: https://claude.ai/directory/sentway

3. In the conversation with your artifact, ask Claude to create a standalone version in HTML or JSX that does not rely on Claude runtime APIs, connected apps or artifact storage.

4. Review what Claude says it changed. Confirm every button, input and calculation works on its own, with no hidden dependence on Claude.

5. Ask Claude to publish it to Sentway with public access, so visitors do not authenticate at all.

6. Open the Sentway URL in a private or incognito window, signed out of everything, and click through each interaction yourself.

7. Send the Sentway URL to your audience.

Example: a proposal calculator for a client

You built a pricing calculator in Claude to accompany a proposal, but your client does not use Claude. Ask Claude to rebuild it as a standalone page with the same inputs and formulas, publish it publicly on Sentway, and test the totals in a private window before sending the link. If the client should reply, add a response form instead of asking them to email you numbers.

Example: a public quiz or checklist

You want to post a quiz or checklist on social media where most readers have never used Claude. A sign-in wall would lose many of them. Publish a standalone version on Sentway with public access so anyone can open it in their browser. Scoring logic that runs in the page ports well; anything that asked Claude to grade free-text answers needs replacing with fixed rules.

When Sentway is not the right answer

Skip Sentway if your legacy artifact already shows 'Publish' and the published version is enough, or if your audience is happy to sign in to Claude. Skip it too when the experience depends deeply on Claude-native functionality, such as live conversation with Claude, connected apps or per-user artifact storage. A standalone copy would lose the part that makes it useful.

A prompt you can paste

Free plan

Help me create a standalone, browser-ready version of this [calculator/quiz/proposal] that does not rely on Claude runtime APIs or connected apps. Use the Sentway connector to publish it as a public webpage. Check which original functions can be preserved and explicitly tell me what must be changed or cannot work independently. Give me the URL and a brief checklist to test in an incognito browser.

Produces: A standalone page published publicly at a new Sentway URL, a list of preserved and changed functions, and a manual test checklist for you to run.

Claude reviews the code and publishes; it does not click through the live page for you. Run the incognito checklist yourself before sharing.

Questions people ask

Do viewers need a Claude account?
Not for a Sentway page. Visitors open the Sentway URL in any browser. For artifacts shared through Claude's newer Share dialog, Anthropic's help says viewers do need a Claude account, even with 'Anyone with the link'.
Can a legacy published artifact already work without sign-in?
Yes. A legacy chat artifact published with 'Publish' on Free, Pro or Max plans can be viewed without a Claude account. If that is what you have and it is enough, you do not need Sentway.
Will Claude-powered features still work?
Not automatically. Model calls, connected apps, artifact storage and other Claude platform features do not run on Sentway. Claude can sometimes replace them with logic in the page or a Sentway form; otherwise they must be removed.
Can I password protect the Sentway link instead?
Yes. Public access means anyone with the link can open it. You can instead require a password, ask visitors for their email, or require verified email from an allowlist. Visitors still need no Claude or Sentway account.
Is publishing free?
You can create a free Sentway account and publish pages. Some features, such as detailed visitor activity, require Pro. Compare plans before relying on a paid feature.
